Shane Storks is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan. His research focuses around robust commonsense reasoning and natural language inference in textual and embodied AI agents. While his past work has exposed limitations in the coherence of state-of-the-art language models performing reasoning tasks, he aims to bridge the gap between these systems and humans in their understanding of the physical world. He has worked as an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon Alexa AI in Summers 2020 and 2021.
